Concept Artist
Responsibilities
The concept artist is responsible for the development of the artistic design of the game and defining the visual style and evolution of that style at Insydious. The concept artist will develop artwork during all phases of game development, expand the artistic goals, mentor other artists in the vision of the style of the game, and develop visual assets of the highest quality. The concept artist may also represent the studio at conferences or in discussions of the project as related to the art.
Needed Skills
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- Strong ability to motivate and work in teams
- Passion for making and playing video games
- Strong traditional fine art skills, training and production experience (illustration, painting, human anatomy, organic forms, color theory, perspective, 2D & 3D design)
- Proficient in the use of Photoshop/Painter as well as traditional painting/rendering techniques
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with video game product development including, but not limited to workflow, tools, limits of technology, matte painting, color keys, character turnarounds, story board, marketing material, graphic design, HUD/UI design experience desirable
- Understanding of the fundamentals of 3D packages a plus
